I am hoping to grow my skills in facilitating conversations that bring added meaning and intention to the issue at hand. After taking a course on Art of Participatory Leadership in 2014, I've used some techniques learned to facilitate a series of community meetings tackling challenging questions about development, neighborhood change, honoring our history in the context of race, and gentrification. I will be continuing to work with neighbors to continue these conversations about neighborhood change. I have several other projects for 2015 where I would like to use skills learned from AoPL, including community discussions about housing policy, workplace policies. I also want to continue to increase my use of AoPL techniques in my personal life and with my own small office team.
