While our challenges have become more complex, folks seem to still be searching for that magical silver bullet: that one fix that will solve the health care mess, that one song that will eliminate the pervasive violence in our world, that one program that will erase student achievement disparities, that one almighty thing that will make good education, good food and the good life accessible to all. In all of this complexity there is no silver bullet, no fight that will win the war. These descriptors and frameworks no longer serve us well. To be at war disables us from listening to understand.
We need innovation, and innovation requires the voices of many with multiple perspectives. We need true engagement, not organizing; relationships with unlikely allies, not war.
The BtB team are individuals that have been, since 2011, transforming the way I think about system change, about organizational development and about cultivating communities of practice. This May at the Wellstone Center is the place and the space to be in co-learning about non-token and non-trickle down engagement that can be moved beyond conversation, through shared work, and into real, sustainable change. This is the place to be with others who are interested in exploring how we can be better together.
Are you ready to take your change work to a new level? I hope so, I am, and I need you. Join us in May!
